This is just the kind of work I love: traipsing around the woods for hours on a gorgeous day with a camera around my neck. Welcome to Wetrock Farm (or what will soon be Wetrock Farm, anyway), a neighborhood in northern Durham that will include an organic farm and more than 100 acres of preserved open space. Last fall I was asked to create a photographic portfolio capturing what this large tract of land, comprised of forest and old tobacco fields, looks like before development begins. I jumped at the chance. It looks like a pretty nice place to call home, don't you think? Here are a few of my favorite images from the shoot, including this historic tobacco barn (above and below).
